DAY 1: ARRIVAL AT BODH-GAYA

Meet and greet upon your arrival at airport/railway stations before transferring to hotel. Later we visit the Mahabodhi temple at Bodhgaya. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 2: BODH-GAYA CITY TOUR

After breakfast we go for full day city tour of Bodh-Gaya whereby we will visit Sujata Village, Niranjana River & various monasteries. Sujata Village is said to be the home of ‘Sujata’ –the milkmaid who is said to have fed Gautama Buddha milk and rice, ending his seven years of ascetism. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 3: BODHGAYA - RAJGIR - NALANDA – BODHGAYA

After breakfast at hotel, we head for an excursion to Rajgir (102 km). We will also the Gridhar-kutta Hill, Bimbisaar jail & Ajatashatru's Fort. Post lunch, we will drive to Nalanda (12 km). A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Nalanda along with Taxila and Vikram Shila was known to be the best universities dedicated to the teaching Buddhist philosophy in ancient times. The famous Chinese traveler monk and writer Huen Tsang also studied at this university during the Gupta period. Overnight at the hotel in Bodh-Gaya

DAY 4: BODH-GAYA / VARANASI (250 KM / 7 HRS APPROX)

After an early breakfast we leave BodhGaya for Varanasi by car. Varanasi, an important Hindu pilgrimage site is close to Sarnath-another important Buddhist site where Gautama Buddha first taught the Dharma, and where following the the enlightenment of Kondanna, the Buddhist Sangha came into existence . After arrival,we check in to the hotel and then after refreshing, we proceed to Sarnath (14 km) where we will visit Dhamekha Stupa and Deer park. If time permits, we will also see the evening aarti at Varanasi. Overnight at the hotel at Varanasi

DAY 05 VARANASI DEPARTURE

Early morning boat excursion on the river Ganges to visit the various Ghats and see people offer prayers to the rising sun. Come back to hotel for breakfast and later head off to a city sightseeing tour where we will the Bharat Mata Temple with a big relief map of India in marble, Durga Temple, Tulsi Manas Mandir, Banaras Hindu University. Evening transfer to Varanasi airport to catch connecting flight for onward destination.
